Willow Tree Miniature horses began in 1999 with one horse as many "backyard " operations do. The one horse was an AQHA palomino mare
named Jessica's Mark. Jessica had to be humanely euthanized and at that point I realized I could probably feed two little horses for
what it cost me to feed one big horse. I bought my first miniature mare , loving named Willow Tree's Mother Pony and her weanling
age filly named Willow Tree's Bae Girl at auction in November of 2000. As they say... The rest is history!
Willow Tree farm is located
in the foothills of North Carolina near the Blue Ridge Parkway and is minutes from Pilot Mountain. We live in the Ararat community,
just outside of Mount Airy, North Carolina, home of the world's largest open face granite quarry and is also well known for being
the town of Mayberry RFD.
We are situated on 3 acres and try to maintain a herd of between 8 and 10 horses . The foals born each year
consist of only four to six foals. Maintaining a small number helps afford me the time to take care of their individual needs. I strive
to have a breeding program that produces correct, colorful; friendly foals. Routine health care and good nutrition are the cornerstones
of my breeding program.
My little herd consists of AMHA, AMHR, ICHR and WCMHR registered horses. We have a variety of colors and some
with blue eyes. I like unusual colors and the overo and sabino genes. My personal favorite would have to be an overo with blue eyes.

We currently
have 5 dogs and 2 cats, all of which can be seen on The Kids Page. Each of these precious souls were little friends
that nobody wanted for one reason or another. I love each of them dearly and consider them a part of our family.
I am very thankful
and feel blessed to have all of my animals... I look forward to seeing them every morning and give thanks for them each night!!!
